We would like to introduce our new educational program, named “International Post-Graduate Program in Human Security”, which our Tohoku University started from April 2005. 　 In organizing this program, 4 Graduate Schools of our university, Graduate School of Medicine, Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, and Graduate School of International Cultural Studies, cooperated together.
　　　 Therefore we may say it is a “linkage program between social sciences and other sciences”, because this is an academic collaboration of the humanities, sociology, economics, engineering, medical science. Here, I am going to talk about the background and the general outline of this our new program.
